April 7th, 2008
Well Its April already! I can't believe it! Time for an update from the Childers Gang. The kids and I are VERY Anxious to start riding. We look forward to 4H and Riding Club as soon as the weather cooperates.
Dakota will be playing Baseball and just finished his guitar lessons which he enjoyed. (I think he learned a little). Dakota was also recently baptized, on Mar 29th. It was a special day. Thanks to those of you that were there to show your love and support to him in his decision.
Lindsey just signed up for High School at Riverton High School and just completed her Drivers Ed online, and successfully passed the test at the Drivers License Division (can I mention I hate that place!) and she now has her LERNER'S PERMIT! Oh WOW! Now, I have a cheaufer anywhere I need to go! Maverick for milk, Library, get gas, or anything else she can think of and suggest, just so she can drive.
Kennedie was taking Ultimate Cheer Classes, which didnt last long, because she was "Seriously annoyed" (as she put it) at the other students in her class. And yes, she thinks she is ALL THAT!
Sydni completed her season of basketball on her school team where she was an exceptional point guard. she was only a 6th grader, playing with the 7th , 8th and 9th grade team. pretty exciting! She is a super student and my very best helper at home. Sydni takes good care of mom and is very sensative to my feelings and needs.
Saydee is boy crazy, and playing the piano all the time, where she is self taught! I'm very proud of her. She recently made the honor roll at school for the first time. Quite an accomplishment. She loves to be on the computer, and she can type nearly as fast as me, and I have been at it pretty much full time for about 13 years! She also stands unbeaten, with the record in text messages in one month of 8991. Thats nearly 9000 text messages sent and recieved in one month! And she made the honor roll? Hmmm. I guess we will see how the next Term pans out! What the heck can they text about that much? OMG! WTF! TMTH! (laughing! I'm just practicing my text messenging abbreviations! But Seriously, she is TMTH... Too Much To Handle!
I am loving my job. I have become quite an Estimator and really enjoy it.
As always, I have a number of projects I have been working on around the place. Keeps me busy and focused. I finally replaced that horrible green carpet in the Front Room and Dining Room right inside the Front door. HATED that stuff! Now it looks pretty and up to date! Along with some fun new Room Decor'. I am really happy with it. Im working on some other things outside. I designed a wash station/ tie rack for the horses on a concrete pad, and am working on completing that project so we have a nice, safe and clean place to wash the horses before horse shows. Of course I bid that concrete project, and came in really low on that one! grin! I like those kinds of projects! I am also currently taking an online Hunter's Safety Class. Something I have wanted to do for a long time. Who knows what I will do with it once I have it, but hey, I just might want to hunt something sometime! Ya know, I could run into a bear or some big Moose on a trail ride with the kids sometime, and I should be prepared... Right? Laughing!
The kids and I just got back from spending 5 days in Orlando, Florida. We had a great time! Everyone told me I was crazy for traveling that far for that long with 5 kids by myself. I just told them I have the BEST kids! We had a great time together. They all helped me and each other out, and made it such a fun trip. Amy and little Dane joined us for part of it and it was so great to see them. Dane is such a sweetheart. So happy and easy going. The weather was beautiful. Sunny and Hot, about 89-90 degrees every day. We crammed alot into just a few days, but still found time to relax and enjoy some fun at the pool the last day. Our Condo was fantastic. Lots of room for all of us. We even managed to hook up with Troy, Ashley, Jonah and Isaac one night for dinner, as we found out they were going to be there the exact same days we were! How Crazy is that! We don't even ever seen them right here in town, but manage to run into them on completely separate vacations, in Florida! Coming home was a bit hectic. A big storm moved in, and delayed us 2 1/2 hours, 1 1/2 of which we spent sitting on the plane, on the runway! Yeah, Um, that sucked! But we survived. But... we made it home and what did we do to relax and recoup on Sunday.... Rode the horses! AAAAHH. The weather was beautiful. Then Monday... yeah. SNOW! The kids went back to school today, and so back to the regular grind for all of us!
Thats pretty much the scoop! Check out the photos for more good laughs!
Take Care All! And thanks for stopping and taking a moment to check in on us.
