June 2008

Well I would like to say summer has started..... but where the heck is the warm weather?

Let's start with my boy!

DAKOTA!
Dakota has been playing ball and getting better and better. I have really enjoyed going
to his games and having him be the focus of my attention.
He is growing up and is such a great kid!

He has begun attending Scouts, which he loves! Dakota has needed something like this for sooo long! He loves getting together with the other boys and doing boy things. He has already has earned his Bobcat award. We started right off with a Rocket Derby, where I must say, Dakota had the finest Rocket of all! He had fun working on it.

LINDSEY LOU!
Lindsey tried out for 4H Royalty this year. To try out, the girls had to write a 2 minute speech which they had to give to the entire audience. They had to Model an outfit, have a one on one interview with 2 judges where they had a question/ answer period, and then they had to perform a Reining pattern on their horse! This is Lindsey's first year as a Senior in 4H. Much Tougher competition for her this year, no doubt. Lindsey did make Royalty and won the 4H overall queen this year, so she will be representing the 4H program throughout the year. That means lots of parades, some service projects and then carrying the American Flag at all the 4H flag ceremonies this year! A great opportunity for her!

Lindsey also graduated from 9th grade and is officially done at North Star Academy and ready to push forward to High School at Riverton High. She is driving all over the place and has pretty much booted me out of my spot in the drivers seat. She is a great driver and can maneuver
around in the big Suburban with no problem at all.

Lindsey currently has her hands full with her horse Tulsa! This horse is full of herself and is quite an athlete. She is truly a challenge for Lindsey, but not one she cant handle. The first horseshow, June 7th was a 14 hr show (not exagerating!) It was a rough one, but by the end of the night (11pm), Lindsey had worn her down, and pushed her harder than she ever has yet, and got a 20 second barrell run. (Very impressive, for those that dont know any better!) These 2 are going places. But it will definately take a full summer of alot of hard work. I'm excited about the Potential!

9th Grade graduation dinner at Tuscany. The girls.... and the guys! The rode in a Hummer Limo! What a night to remember!

SAYDEE LADY!

Saydee ran for Student Body Vice President, at the request and BRIBARY of her mother. I had to offer her $100 just to run. OMG!

That girl needs to get involved in something, (other than boys!) Seriously!

She worked very hard, and came up with her own Slogans and spent some of the $100 on her campaign! She handed out 100 grand candy bars and said, "Vote for Saydee - She's worth 100 GRAND!
Saydee is now the new Student Body Vice Pres at North Star Academy, serving in office with Jeremy as President. (hmmm, I think she likes him too!, so How CONVEENIENT is that!)

I am fervently working on finding a location for the Snow Shack, and Saydee has expressed an urgent interest in making that her summer project. she is eager to earn some money. Now if only this dang weather, (and Bluffdale City) would cooperate.

Saydee has worked Very Very hard on her grades this year, and I am extremely Proud of her for her accomplishments!

SYDNI SUE!
Sydni also ran for 4H Royalty as a first year intermediate. She made one of the attendants and will also be representing the Salt Lake County 4H throughout the year in Parades and Flag Ceremonies at the shows!

Sydni and Trigger had a fantastic 1st show! Blue Ribbons all over the place! These two are going right to the top also. After the 1st show, Sydni is sitting 6th place over 48 Intermediates, and she is only a first year Intermediate, so that is quite exceptional!

Sydni is a competitor and I love it!
hmmmm. that's probably cuz I am!

Syd is also a great helper and keeps a good eye out on her mother. She worries about me and is the best at telling me how much she appreciates and loves me.

Somehow she is really tuned into me and I am so grateful for that. She knows where I am at all times, who I am with, and when I will be home. If anyone needs to know "my time-frame" just check with Syd. LOL! Sydni also has an interest in boys and has a special friend we call "Big K!" So feel free to ask her how Big K is doing! You are sure to get a rise out of her! Ha Ha.

(Man, this Blog thing is fun! Its like my way at getting back at the girls, and they can't even do anything... cuz I am in charge of this Childers Gang Blog Spot!)

KENNE KOO!
Kennedie... Oh boy, where do I start?
She is all that! And don't you forget it! Kennedie graduated from Kindergarten and is off and running to First Grade. She is excited to eat lunch at school and be there all day. She is an excellent reader and loves Math!

She says the dangest things... I need to be writing them down. She just kills me.

Just for an example, she and I were driving down the road one day, it was a stormy day, and we came up on an accident. I said, look Kenne, that car is all smashed, thats sad! I hope those people are ok. and she said.... Well, Good thing Nationwide is on their side! Duh! what 5 year old says that! Maybe you just had to be there, but it was pretty funny.

She also has become my new Speedometer monitor in the car. She loves to watch for speed limit signs and then quickly checks how fast I am going. Obviously this can become VERY Annoying to me, as I am NOT USUALLY traveling under that limit. What ever happened to 5 year olds just quietly coloring or playing with a Barbie or something in the car. She wont even watch a dang movie anymore... she's too busy telling me all the red lights I am running and how fast I am going.

I went to the Zoo with the Kennedie and her class Kindergartners for their last field trip. That was fun! Really! Believe it or not, I made it to the Kindergarten Zoo field trip with all 5 of my kids! It really is a fun time. So Glad I was able to do that!I sometimes can't believe my youngest is already moving on to 1st grade! She and I have had some really fun times together this year, having some time to ourselves in the mornings. This last few weeks, Kenne went to work with me pretty regularly. We had fun there. She was put in charge of some jobs, stuffing some envelopes, and such, and earned some dollars! She also had her own computer and desk that she regularly logged onto to Barbie.com. We have had a great time together.

Kennedie still loves her pony Fritz, and loves to ride him. show on him and Compete on him! She is a great little rider! The 2 of them are quite a pair!

My littlest girl is getting big. DONT BLINK!

JESSE THE DOG!
Lindsey requested that I include Jesse. She has somehow become another one of my children. She thinks she is one of us. In fact, when Lindsey gets in the Driver's seat, Jesse gets in the Shot gun seat and when I open the passenger door to get in, she just sits there and looks at me like... Where are you gonna sit! SERIOUSLY! What has happened here? !*@ Of course, Lindsey thinks it's cute, but about the time I have to start doing Jesse's Laundry... I'm putting my foot down!

Nothin new with me really. I still love my job! and am Estimating full time. I got my first job, all by myself, from start.... and will see it to finish. I get to over see it and everything. It is the Taylorsville Liquor Store! Hey, Its not my fault I need to be there overseeng this job, like 24/7! Ha Ha. No really. Its a big deal for me! Im having fun with it.

Ive spent the last month working on our riding arena. Im quite the master of the bobcat these days. If any of you need some dirtwork done, Im ur girl! I brought in 20 loads of Pond Sand, and moved the panels around a bit, and have made the girls and I quite the practice working arena. I really enjoy working outside on the yard and out in the barn. My pasture is growing nicely. Things are good. I bought a camp trailor, and the kids spend every night out there in it. Its fun. We have missed having one. I guess I may as well put a skirt around the bottom of it and get a rug out and put out some planter boxes with flowers and put out the awning because with fuel prices so high, we wont be taking it anywhere! LOL! I know, REDNECK!

Just a cute picture of Alli and I sitting next to the Mississippi River!

and. ...
have I mentioned
I have taken up sailing?! yeah, that's me! next to my brand New Sail Boat!

It's name is ....
In your dreams! Ha Ha! (Big Sigh.)
I guess thats it!

Lisa and the Wild bunch! Stay tuned for more .....

APRIL 2008 UPDATE!

April 7th, 2008 Well Its April already!

I can't believe it! Time for an update from the Childers Gang. The kids and I are VERY Anxious to start riding. We look forward to 4H and Riding Club as soon as the weather cooperates.

Dakota will be playing Baseball and just finished his guitar lessons which he enjoyed. (I think he learned a little). Dakota was also recently baptized, on Mar 29th. It was a special day. Thanks to those of you that were there to show your love and support to him in his decision. To view some pictures of his baptism day, click on the link to the right that says Dakota's baptism.

Lindsey just signed up for High School at Riverton High School and just completed her Drivers Ed online, and successfully passed the test at the Drivers License Division (can I mention I hate that place!) and she now has her LERNER'S PERMIT! Oh WOW! Now, I have a cheaufer anywhere I need to go! Maverick for milk, Library, get gas, or anything else she can think of and suggest, just so she can drive.

Kennedie was taking Ultimate Cheer Classes, which didnt last long, because she was "Seriously

annoyed" (as she put it) at the other students in her class. And yes, she thinks she is ALL THAT!
Sydni completed her season of basketball on her school team where she was an exceptional point guard. she was only a 6th grader, playing with the 7th , 8th and 9th grade team. pretty exciting! She is a super student and my very best helper at home. Sydni takes good care of mom and is very sensative to my feelings and needs.

Saydee is boy crazy, and playing the piano all the time, where she is self taught! I'm very proud of her. She recently made the honor roll at school for the first time. Quite an accomplishment. She loves to be on the computer, and she can type nearly as fast as me, and I have been at it pretty much full time for about 13 years! She also stands unbeaten, with the record in text messages in one month of 8991. Thats nearly 9000 text messages sent and recieved in one month! And she made the honor roll? Hmmm. I guess we will see how the next Term pans out! What the heck can they text about that much? OMG! WTF! TMTH! (laughing!) I'm just practicing my text messenging abbreviations! Learned 'em from the kids! But Seriously, she is TMTH... (Too Much To Handle!)

I am loving my job. I have become quite an Estimator and really enjoy it. As always, I have a number of projects I have been working on around the place. Keeps me busy and focused. I finally replaced that horrible green carpet in the Front Room and Dining Room right inside the Front door. HATED that stuff! Now it looks pretty and up to date! Along with some fun new Room Decor'. I am really happy with it. Im working on some other things outside. I designed a wash station/ tie rack for the horses on a concrete pad, and am working on completing that project so we have a nice, safe and clean place to wash the horses before horse shows. Of course I bid that concrete project, and came in really low on that one! grin! I like those kinds of projects! I am also currently taking an online Hunter's Safety Class. Something I have wanted to do for a long time. Who knows what I will do with it once I have it, but hey, I just might want to hunt something sometime! Ya know, I could run into a bear or some big Moose on a trail ride with the kids sometime, and I should be prepared... Right? Laughing!

The kids and I just got back from spending 5 days in Orlando, Florida. We had a great time! Everyone told me I was crazy for traveling that far for that long with 5 kids by myself. I just told them I have the BEST kids! We had a great time together. They all helped me and each other out, and made it such a fun trip. Amy and little Dane joined us for part of it and it was so great to see them. Dane is such a sweetheart. So happy and easy going. The weather was beautiful. Sunny and Hot, about 89-90 degrees every day. We crammed alot into just a few days, but still found time to relax and enjoy some fun at the pool the last day. Our Condo was fantastic. Lots of room for all of us. We even managed to hook up with Troy, Ashley, Jonah and Isaac one night for dinner, as we found out they were going to be there the exact same days we were! How Crazy is that! We don't even ever seen them right here in town, but manage to run into them on completely separate vacations, in Florida! Coming home was a bit hectic. A big storm moved in, and delayed us 2 1/2 hours, 1 1/2 of which we spent sitting on the plane, on the runway! Yeah, Um, that sucked! But we survived. But... we made it home and what did we do to relax and recoup on Sunday.... Rode the horses! AAAAHH. The weather was beautiful. Then Monday... yeah. SNOW! The kids went back to school today, and so back to the regular grind for all of us! Thats pretty much the scoop! Check out the photos for more good laughs! Take Care All! And thanks for stopping and taking a moment to check in on us.
Dont miss the pictures from Orlando.... at that top, on the right! Just click on the links. for more pictures of me and my crazy gang.
